Oftentimes, dogs with sensitive stomachs tend to perform better on a pet food without chicken as the main protein source. Our Select New Zealand Recipe is ideal for dogs with allergies, digestive issues, skin sensitivities and beyond. Dogs absolutely LOVE the taste of easy-to-digest lamb, and tend to do very well on this formula should they suffer from sensitive stomachs or "picky eater" syndrome.

Typical Adult Feeding Guidelines 

10+ lbs. 1 to 1 3/4 cup 

25+ lbs. 1 3/4 to 3 1/4 cups

50+ lbs. 3 1/4 to 4 1/4 cups

75+ lbs. 4 1/4 to 5 1/2 cups

100+ lbs. 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 cups

125+ lbs. 6 1/2 cups plus 1/2 cup for every 10 pounds over 125 pounds in weight

Feeding Adult Dogs:

Follow the feeding guidelines shown below. Your dog’s food intake should be adjusted based upon body condition, life stage, activity, and environmental temperature. Since Nature's Select Dog Food is complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Feed with clean water every day. We recommend splitting this amount into two meals. Be sure to take your pets to your local veterinarian for a proper health examination.

Feeding Reproducing Females:

Nature’s Select Classic Dog Food has been fortified to meet the needs of reproducing (gestating and lactating) female dogs. Food consumption can vary during gestation and lactation, but reproducing females must eat enough food to maintain a good body condition. Expect intakes to increase 2 to 4 times the cups shown in the adult feeding guidelines during lactation. 

Feeding Puppies: 

Puppies start to nibble on solid food at three to four weeks of age. Use the feeding chart as a guideline. We recommend serving Nature’s Select Classic dry food with warm water (three parts dry food – one-part water) at all times until weaned (6 to 8 weeks of age). Remove softened food after a couple of hours due to spoilage. Don’t let your puppy get too overweight and maintain an ideal body condition. Individual needs will vary with breed, activity, litter size and environmental temperature. Slight appetite changes are normal with puppies. Since Nature's Select foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Be sure to offer fresh, clean water daily. We recommend you take your pet to see your veterinarian annually.

Transitioning Your Pet to Nature's Select: 

Switching from your current food to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days to reduce any digestive upsets that occur due to a change in diet. Feed 25% of the new food with 75% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 50% of each food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 75% of the new food with 25% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. After this time, your dog will be 100% on Nature's Select Dog Food.
