This recipe is the ultimate choice for overweight and senior dogs. Naturally low protein, low calories, and low fat make this formula ideal for overweight dogs who tend to overeat. Our Select Plus Recipe is a solution for senior dogs with mobility issues, as it contains added Glucosamine which sustains healthy joint function, and is an excellent preventative for aging dogs.

Typical Adult Feeding Guidelines 

20+ lbs. 1 3/4 to 3 1/2 cup 

50+ lbs. 3 1/2 to 4 3/4 cups

75+ lbs. 4 3/4 to 5 3/4 cups

100+ lbs. 5 3/4 to 6 3/4 cups

125+ lbs. 6 3/4 cups plus 1/2 cup for every 10 pounds over 125 pounds in weight

Feeding Adult Dogs:

Follow the feeding guidelines shown below. Your dog’s food intake should be adjusted based upon body condition, life stage, activity, and environmental temperature. Since Nature's Select Dog Food is complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Feed with clean water every day. We recommend splitting this amount into two meals. Be sure to take your pets to your local veterinarian for a proper health examination.

This formula not recommended for dogs under one year of age, not for pregnant or lactating dogs, and not for dogs under 20 lbs.

Transitioning Your Pet to Nature's Select:

 Switching from your current food to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days to reduce any digestive upsets that occur due to a change in diet. Feed 25% of the new food with 75% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 50% of each food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 75% of the new food with 25% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. After this time, your dog will be 100% on Nature's Select Dog Food.

Chicken meal is considered a meat concentrate and contains nearly 300% MORE protein than fresh chicken, which is why we use it in this recipe. 

Why use chicken fat?

 It’s a pure fat to use as a quality ingredient because it is high in linoleic acid and is an omega-6 fatty acid that is essential to a pet’s life! 

Why are we by-product free?

 By-Products & poultry by-products contain animal parts other than meat including organs, brain, blood, bone, intestines, feet, etc. Nature’s Select Recipes contain absolutely NO by-products in our pet food. This recipe is NOT recommended for puppies or young dogs, as it contains glucosamine which can impact their growth.
